Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee

With the civil rights movement in full swing, the formation of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee was a much-needed organization for the movement’s younger college activists. Adult leaders served in an advisory role as the SNCC’s student leaders attempted to bring new strategies to the fight to end racial discrimination.
