The Anti-Lynching Movement was a campaign to quite simply end the lynching of African-Americans in the United States.
Organizations such as the NAACP launched campaigns and lobbied government officials. Writer and NAACP leader James Weldon Johnson published essays and news articles concerning lynching and the campaign to end these violent attacks on African Americans.
