Selma to Montgomery March

Definition: On March 7, 1965, the Selma to Montgomery March for voting rights began. As protestors marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge, state troopers attacked them with clubs, tear gas, and bullwhips. The march became known as "Blood Sunday".
