My Review

I recently meet an author at a book signing at Afro World in St. Louis, Missouri. "Risen: From Jamestown to the White House" by Anthony M. McDonald, Sr. It is the most wonderful compilation of contributors of African American History I have read in a long time. I've always enjoyed studying African-American History and consider myself to be well-versed in many of the noted people like, Nat Turner, Harriet Tubman, and Sojourner Truth; however, this book takes it a step further by introducing the reader to lesser known people who still had a tremendous impact on history.

I loved reading this book because each autobiography is only about two pages long, which allows the reader to enjoy a fast pace of gaining knowledge while being able to research further those heroes that most intrigue you.

I have been informed that the book has been transformed into a stage-play, and I can't wait to see it come alive.

For more information about this book or the up-coming play, please contact Afro World at 314-389-5194, or email me at victorlittle@hotmail.com
